You can make a yummy dish of lasagne using a rather special ingredient that your family and friends would absolutely fall in love with. You can use your regular lasagne ingredients, according to the size of the meal you are aiming to make, whilst following this recipe.

Preheat the oven for ten minutes at 180 degrees. Whilst it preheats, brown your mincemeat in a pan and make it nicely brown. Take it out of the pan, and add garlic and onions in the same pan. Then add some green pepper, mushrooms, a little thyme and oregano.

Cook away until the vegetables are nice and soft. Then add the mince back into the pan and put a little bit of wine in it. Do not worry if you are serving it to the children since all the alcohol gets burnt out. Add a stock cube, and stir a bit to get it to mix.

Now is the time to add secret ingredient; add a spatula full of Heinz tomato sauce (or more if the quantity requires). This will give it a lovely tomato flavour. Add a couple of tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce followed by some tomatoes. Now it should start bubbling up nicely. Cover it up with the lid, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about ten minutes.

Now is the time to start making the béchamel sauce; put the milk into the small saucepan and add a small quantity of grated nutmeg. Let it come to the boil. Then melt some margarine and add flour and milk bit by bit; all the while stirring continuously. Then let it cook for a little time because you really want to cook out the taste of the flour.

Now to put the lasagne together, first put some of the meat sauce at the bottom, then the lasagne followed by another layer of meat sauce. Add more béchamel sauce and a final layer of lasagne. Then finish off the meat sauce at the top layer and put the rest of the béchamel sauce. Lastly, add the cheese on the top.

Cover this up with tin foil and pop it into the oven. Bake for 35 minutes, take off the foil and bake for another 15 minutes until the top is golden. Serve it nice and hot.
